What's Giving Away Your Age?

As I get older I'm more conscious about signs of aging and age prevention. Here are some key things that can give away your age!

TEETH

Years of eating and drinking can leave your teeth with a yellow stain. Young-looking teeth are white with rounded edges. Older ones are the opposite (small, worn, chipped). In addition, your gums may recede over time and leave you looking as if you have gaps between your teeth.

REVERSE THE CLOCK Whiteners, deep-clean and brighten. Try Crest Whitestrips Renewal. If you can afford it, ask your dentist about a whiting treatment in your office, these can get pricy and insurance may or may not cover it. If teeth are worn, ask your dentist about a bite guard to prevent grinding.

NECK & CHEST

This is a big one! I see this a lot just walking around. You see an older women who has a beautiful flawless face but then her neck looks like it belongs on a different body.

REVERSE THE CLOCK Every day apply creams to your face & continue all the way down your neck. It would also be a good idea to wear a daily sunscreen to help with age spots of aging of your neck. I like to wear the Neutrogena sunscreen for your face under my makeup. I apply it to my face & I bring it all the way down my neck.

HAIR

Dryness-in the form of messy frizz and loss of shine-is public enemy number one. Damage or age is to blame if your hair used to look good but is now thinning or dull or has a dishwater color.

REVERSE THE CLOCK Hair isn't alive, it's dead-but and it will still look better if you care for it. Older hair is thirsty you need to give it moisture but not the kind you find in the shower. Use a hydrating mask and serum/oil when you get out of the shower. I like to use my Garnier hair mask followed by Josie Maran argan oil.

HANDS

As you get older, hands look bonier and veins become more visible-both. Sun spots from years of exposure become more pronounced.

REVERSE THE CLOCK You don't have to wear gloves, but you do need to protect your hands with sunscreen-just as you'd apply hand cream. Think about how much exposure your hands get just while you drive your car! Exfoliate regularly to improve circulation and texture, and moisturize 24-7. I like to use the same sunscreen I use on my face & neck for my hands. I also keep a bottle of Neutron hand cream with me at all times.

Product Empties March 2015

Getting rid of a couple of empty beauty products. Here is what I used up this month.

Sensationail gel polish removal kit - I can't remember how much this cost but it was a waste of money. These are basically nail wraps that help remove gel nail polish and while I LOVE this system there are cheaper nail wraps out there. Save your money and head over the Sally Beauty, I just picked up 100 wraps for under $7 and they work just as well.

Redken wave ahead & curvaceous ringlet- these were both great product when my hair was shorter but it doesn't work for me now that my hair is longer.

Alterna weightless whipped mousse - again this is a great product if you have shorter hair, not recommended for longer hair as it weights it down.

Living proof amp instant texture volumizer & style extender - I think I had one of these products in a blog post before. I haven't had much luck with this brand, they really don't seem to work well with my hair.

Garnier fructis damage eraser - this is the best hair mask I have ever used! This is about my third container and I have replaced the one in my shower with a new one plus I have an extra one on hand. This makes my hair so silky soft and I have noticed there is less damage to my hair. It feels very healthy and amazing after I use this mask.

NeoStrata lash enhancer serum - I didn't think that this product did a lot but now that I've stopped using it I've noticed a change in my lashes. I don't know that they helped them grow longer or faster but they seemed more conditioned. Mascara seems to go on smoother and I seem to use less mascara when I was using this product daily. Next trip to the drug store I'm defiantly going to be picked up another tube.

Tresemme 7 day smooth system - I didn't really noticed a difference when I used this product. Also the directions say to use 8-10 pumps which seems like a lot! My hair doesn't like a lot of product and this seemed to weight it down. I cut back to about 4 pumps which didn't weight it down but I also didn't notice a difference.

Lancome double action eye makeup remover- I think I already had this in a blog post before as well, it's amazing! By far the best eye makeup remover I've tried. I have a couple spares that I purchased because its that good.

That's it for this month! If you have any recommendations on products that I should try please leave them in the comments below.

September Favorites

It's almost the end of the month, I figured I would get my September favorites posted as I have been LOVING some products this month. I've narrowed my list down to five products that I wanted to talk about.

The first is a DIY lash serum that I made at the beginning of this month. I'm not big on false lashes so I'm trying to do whatever I can to make mine look amazing! I've been using this serum for our four weeks and I've already noticed a difference. Stay tuned and I'll be doing a full review/tutorial on how to make your own lash serum in an upcoming blog post.

The next product I picked up because I had a fall wedding to attend. My legs were looking a little pale and I didn't have time to use my gradual tanner. The Sally Hansen airbrush legs gave me a great glow! I even put some on my arms to even out my farms tan and it looked great! I used a tanning mitt to apply it so I would get airbrushed results, however, you can also just use your hand to rub the product in. I had this on all day and it lasted until the end of the reception. It's looks a little scary when you first put it on but just keep blending and you'll be fine.

Next we have a hair product called its a 10 miracle leave in plus keratin. I put this on as soon as I get out of the shower and it claims to
-maintenance of keratin straightening treatments
-increase styling and manageability
-perfect for all hair types
-replaces lost protein
-protects the natural keratin in hair
-protects against heat
-restores hydration balance
-detangles, defizzers and adds shine
-strengthens hair structure
-seals cuticles for extra silky hair

Another hair product made it into this month's favorites and that's the Alterna rehab deep hydration masque. I know that most people's favorite is the macadamia hair mask but unfortunately I am allergic. If you are interested in trying out the macadamia mask but find that you can use it either I would recommend this one! My hair is so soft and silky smoother after every use.

Finally my last favorite of the month is the Nars ITA brush. I love this brush for contouring, which is something I do every day! This brush is amazing and gives the best results

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hope you had a great September! Stop by next month for my October favorites.
