Current Hair Care Routine

My hair care routine has become very short, sweet and simple. I used to load my hair up with products but I found that I had to then I had to wash it very frequently plus it would never style properly. Now I've cut out a lot of products and I just use two.

First I towel dry my hair as soon as I get out of the shower with a soft microfiber towel. Then I let my hair air dry as I do other things like moisturize and brush my teeth. Next I spray its a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin in my hair and brush is through with a Tangle Teaser.

Next I put about a quarter size amount of Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil in my palm and rub my hands together. Then I distribute the product throughout my hair but mainly focus on the ends of my hair. Finally I brush through my hair once more with a Tangle Teaser and I'm done.

My hair is prepped and ready to blow dry and style how I want for the day! Since I've changed up my hair care routine I've gotten a ton of complements on how healthy and shiny my hair looks. The argan oil doesn't make my hair look greasy one bit! Just make sure to keep in away from the roots. I can typically go without washing my hair for 2-3 days, just make sure you invest in a good dry shampoo.

WATER! How much to drink and why we need it

WATER! It’s an important part of our life. But why is it necessary? How much should be consume day to day? What’s so great about it?

The average person can only live a few days without water, maybe (if your luck) one week. We can live longer without food but water is a must! 75% of you is made up of water. It’s important that as we lose water we replenish it back into our body.

Have you even gotten a bad headache before? How much water did you have to drink today? Being dehydrated can cause headaches so next time instead of popping an Advil try drinking a glass of water instead. There is even research that says dehydration can affect your mood. So if you want to be less cranky drink more water.

Water can even help you lose weight? Your body has a hard time distinguishing between being hungry and thirsty. Sometimes we think we’re hungry but really we need a glass of water. When your body tells you you’re thirsty you’re actually dehydrated. If you’re trying to drop a couple pounds make sure you stay hydrated.

Our skin is the largest organ in our body. Drinking water can actually make your skin glow…and who doesn’t want that? Getting enough water can improve things like color and texture of your skin. There is actually a challenge out there I saw on Facebook. I think it was called the 3 Liter water challenge. If you’re interested go Google it. There are tons of before and after pictures of people who started drinking 3 liters of water every day and they saw drastic changes to their skin!

Now that you know why water is so great for you and what it can do, how much should we consume? A simple question but no simple answer. I was always told 8 glass a day growing up but did you know that there isn’t a set glass amount for everyone. Think about it, what you weight isn’t the same as everyone else. The rule of thumb I like to follow is to drink half your bodyweight in ounces (there are other suggestions out there but this is what I like to try and follow)

Here’s an example if you weight 150lbs 150÷2=75. So if you weight 150lbs then you would need to drink 75oz of water daily.

Are you drinking enough water?

10 Reasons I Became a Beachbody Coach

1) It was a natural fit - I already used Beachbody programs before becoming a coach so it felt like a very natural transition

2) I'm a fitness enthusiast - I've done sports all my life and I love sharing my experiences with others. Since I could walk my parents had me enrolled in all sorts of sports. When I was in elementary I feel in love with running and I still run today. My favorite most memorable job was managing a running retail store. I got to help people fitted with the right tools for their running needs and talk about running all day!!

3) Financial freedom - Beachbody allows me to make extra money in addition to my full time job. It's nice to be able to pay down debt, pay off your house or just save for a rainy day.

4) Company perks - Beachbody rewards successful coaches, and who doesn't love getting rewarded for a job well done? You are also invited to events/conferences that Beachbody holds in different locations, and the best part is your trip is tax deductible

5) Discount on Beachbody products - Since I already use Beachbody products it's nice to get a discount for being a coach. Some people sign up just to get discounts off of the products

6) I get bored easily - What can I say, I like to keep busy. Since moving out on my own I have always filled my time with working during the days, school at night and still getting in time to workout. Now that I'm not in school I find myself getting bored after work. Being a Beachbody coaching keeps me busy!

7) It motivates me to keep up with my workouts - Some days it's hard to find the motivation to workout myself, however, when I am responsible for motivating others to stay active it helps me as well

8) Meeting new people - It's always great to meet new people (both clients and coaches). I love discussing and l promoting fitness, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle

9) Maybe I'll be working from home one day - This is something I've always wanted to do. Tons of Beachbody coaches who have worked hard for the past couple of years are quitting their jobs and doing this full time. There's no reason why I can't do the same...maybe one day this will be my full time job

10) I know that these programs work - Everything posted on this blog is my true honest opinion. I wouldn't post something that I haven't tried or don't like. I've used the programs, I know they work and now I'm sharing them with others.

Products I've Used Up February 2015

Here are the products I've used up. Keep reading to find out my thoughts on these products...would I buy them again?
This is the Joico purple shampoo. I was using this shampoo when I had blonder hair, it's not my favorite, I only bought it because they were out of my regular shampoo.
Neutrogena moisture- I wouldn't recommend this. Even though it says oil free it's still very oily. There are better moisturizers out there than this one.
Living Proof full thickening mousse- again not one that I would recommend. This left my hair feeling very sticky.
Lancome eye makeup remover - this is my favorite eye makeup remover. I love it so much that I repurchased it and since i found it on sale so I actually bought four...yup I love it that much!
Urban Decay makeup setting spray - this is about my third bottle, love this stuff. I've tried other setting sprays and so far nothing has compared.
Dior creme de rose- another love of mine. This about the fifth repurchase of this product. This has really helped my dry cracked lips.
Estee Lauder day wear- This is a great moisturizer and I've been through two of them. I am branching out to try other moisturizer, however, I might go back to Estee Lauder's again.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - I know this is a very expensive product and lots of people love it....but I do not. I'm very happy that I didn't pay for this product because it really didn't agree with  me.
Dior overcurl mascara - I love this maraca! I've already repurchased it and using the new one I repurchased.
Olay fresh effects everything off - I did a whole blog post on this one product. I love these wipes but you have to make sure to get the everything off...the other wipes are no good.

I hope you enjoyed reading about products I've used up...what products did you use up this month?

Try These 7 Exercise Tips

1) Always workout on Monday
Start your week out right, this is more mental than anything. Get week off to a great start!! Continue the trend throughout the week

2) Try to workout in the morning
I know this is easier said than done. I hear you...I am not a morning person, however, when I can drag myself out of bed and workout in the mornings I always feel i have a super productive day. It gets me up ready, awake and energized for the day

3) Never skip two workouts in a row
We all have a life and sometimes our workouts get skipped. It happens, but try not to miss two workouts in a row, this can affect your workout routine for the worse

4) Reward and acknowledge your results (no matter how small)
Make sure you are giving yourself "a pat on the back" as they say, even if you have achieved a small milestone like losing your first pound. It will put yourself in a positive mind set that will make you keep going because you can do this after all

5) Exercise several times a week
It's hard to be active every day but lets face facts, working out once a week isn't enough. Adults are encouraged to try to be active 5 days a week for at least 30min

6) Look for affordable workout
You do not need to always be spending money when working out. Try something free like going for a run or riding your bike. Get others involved and play football or basketball with some friends.

7) Make exercising more enjoyable
It's proven that if you enjoy something you are more likely to stick with it. If you don't like running then don't run. Find a workout that you like to do. Whether it's going to the gym, buying a workout DVD and doing your workout at home, playing basketball, soccer, baseball, find something that you enjoy!

10 Ways To Use Argan Oil

Since picking up the Argan Oil and Argan Oil light from Sephora, I've found TONS of ways to  use this product. Here are some ways that I recommend using it:

1) Mix it with your foundation to give you a dewy finish

2) Use it instead of a night cream, let your face drink in that moisture

3) Put in your hair after a shower as a leave in conditioner

4) Make your own lip scrub with it

5) Rub some on your cuticles

6) Before bed rub on dry or cracked heals

7) Tame frizz and add shine to your hair by putting it in your hair after it's been dried and styled

8) Add a couple drops to your bath and let your body soak in the moisture

9) Minimize stretch marks from your pregnancy by rubbing this on your belly

10) Replace the oil with your daily moisturizer and put your foundation on top

What are your favorite ways to use Argan oil?

10 Excuses We Make For Not Exercising

1) I’m too busy

Solution: schedule time in!! Did you know that your body only needs 30mins of exercise 5 times a week? We can all squeeze in 30mins a day, maybe you cut out some screen time after work or get up 30min earlier in the morning.

2) I’m too old
Solution: This is no excuse. First of all did you know that that there is an 85 year old Nun that races Ironman triathlons? Her name is Madonna Buder and her profile is far too long to put into this blog post but let’s face it, if she can complete a 17hour race you can work out for 30min at any age

3) I hate going it alone

Solution: So don’t! Find a friend that you can work out with or join a group. Find someone who can keep you accountable. If you can afford it hire a personal trainer.

4) It’s so boring

Solution: Find a more exciting exercise that you enjoy. For some of us it’s going to the gym. If you don’t like the gym workout at home. Need something to distract you at home, workout in front of the TV. Watch a 30min long TV episode while you work out. Go outside you can bike, run, ski, rollerblade, ect. Find something that you enjoy.

5) My kids get in the way

Solution: Include your kids! Kids need 60min of exercise every day. If you like to run have them bike beside you. Or go for a family bike ride, rollerblade, ski, ect. Get the whole family involved. Or the other option is get up 30min early to do your workout or go it after they go to bed.

6) I’m too fat

Solution: First off this isn’t an excuse, this is a reason why you should be working out! If you don’t have enough confidence to work out in public do it in the privacy of your own home. There are tons of workout DVDs that you can purchase check out www.beachbodycoach.com/mspamblam for just a couple that are out there. Find one that works for you!

7) I’m thin already

Solution: Again this is not an excuse. Just because you are thin doesn’t mean you are healthy. I don’t care if you are fat, thin, pretty, and tall, short your body still needs 30min of exercise every day!

8) I’m not a gym rat

Solution: Don’t go to the gym. Try an at home workout DVD and working out at home. You don’t need to be lifting weights in order to count it as exercise, use your body weight to get into shape. Or go for a run, walk, and bike. There is more to exercise than going to the gym.

9) You can’t afford a gym membership

Solution: Did you know you can work out for free? If you have two feet and a heart beat you can walk or run. Did you know there are even free running groups you can join? Check with your local running store to see if they offer this. If you have a pair of skates there are usual outdoor rinks that don’t cost a thing. You can go for a bike ride if you have a bike, rollerblade if you have rollerblades.

10) You’re not seeing any changes in your body

Solution: Mix it up. In order to get results you have to do different exercise. Lifting the same weights every day for the same amount of reps will only get you so far. Try something different.

January 2015 Favorites

January favorites time!!! Here's what I used a lot during the month on January.
I love the new year because I get to pick out a new agenda. I picked a really simple one this year with big font. I love it so far!

This week I'm finishing P90X, I loved this workout and I'm moving onto a new beachbody workout. If you haven't tried a beachbody workout yet I would highly recommend them. To purchase you can go to Beachbody's website by clicking here these are great workouts that give you results without the gym. I will be doing a blog post this Friday with my final thoughts on the workout so if you are interested on that check back this Friday.
With starting my new program I picked up some Shakeology. I've been using this in the morning because I do my workouts in the morning. This has been great! It has some amazing ingredients if you want to purchase is go to Shakeology's website by clicking here but I'll let you in on a secret.... Buy this as a "challenge pack" basically its a workout DVD of your choice plus the skakeology, it's a better bang for your buck. To purchase a challenge pack you can head over to Beachbody's website by clicking here.
I've still been using the Fiber 3D mascara, it has been great! I did a whole review on this product so if you want to check that out just Click Here
This month I've been loving my brows. I've still been using Anastasia products, they have been amazing.
As always I had to include my Beauty Blender. This always makes my makeup look flawless.
This is a new product for me. This is argan oil, in both light and the 100% from Sephora. This was a great purchase, each is 15ml and think it was about $25 for both. I am going to do a blog post next week on all the things you can do with argan oil. Check back next week if you are curios.
Finally I've been using my Sensationail LED light a lot. I've been using the color "ocean sparkle". Its a really cool dark green color with sparkle. I did a whole review on this starter kit, if you want to check that out click here

I hope you try out some of my favorites. What are your favorites of the month? I would love to try them out. Please let me know in the comments below.
