Where Are They Now? July 2015 Favorites

July 2015
July 2017

The month of July is a always a special month for me. It's the month that my husband and I started dating, it's the month we got married and it's my birthday month.

July 2015 was our 10 year anniversary - we celebrated by getting married! Of course my number one favorite was my wedding dress which I still have.

As July was my wedding month most of my favorites have to do with my wedding....and I still use all but one of the items today.

Zadro Dimmable Florescent Dual-Sided Mirror - I still use this makeup mirror every single day, it still works great! Having a properly light makeup mirror will help your makeup application, this mirror shows what your makeup will really look like. If it looks good in the mirror before I walk out the door I know it's going to look good all day long. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond - make sure to use a coupon, they are always emailing or mailing them out. I got 20% off of mine.

The lashes I wore on my wedding day were the Ardell 301, they are just accent lashes instead of a full lash. I love these lashes! They make your eyes pop in photos without looking too fake. I still wear these lashes but not everyday. I save them for special occasions when I know I'm going to have my picture taken a lot.

The mascara I used on my wedding day is the Chanel Le Volume De Chanel Waterproof. I know a waterproof mascara isn't something you need everyday but I love how well this holds a curl so I use it almost everyday. It is on the pricey side so I do alternate with a drugstore mascara.

Finally I mentioned the Kat Von D Shade and Light pallet, I was only using 4 of the 6 shades in this pallet but since then I've discovered two products that have replaced it. First is the bareMinerals Concealer in well-rested. I use this to set my under eyes and anywhere else that I've used concealer. Then I use a contour shade from Makeup Geek - "Breakup" which is their cool porcelain shade.

Not bad for this month, typically when I find a product I love I will use it for a very long time. 3 out of 4 products that I used two years ago are still in my routine! I would say discovering new products in July 2015 was a very successful for me.

Product Empties July 2016

One n Only Argan Oil Hydrating Mask - This hair mask is a pass for me, I was looking for something that was going to help hydrate my blonde hair after coloring it....this wasn't it. This mask didn't make my hair feel any different whether I used it or not.

Loreal Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray - This is my favorite hairspray and I have already repurchased another can. This has been my favorite hairspray for a few years now. It's flexible so you can brush out your hair style. It's flexible and easy to work with plus it doesn't leave the crunchy feeling in your hair - personally I hate that feeling.

Sephora Instant Moisturizer - This is about my third jar I've gone through, great moisturizer! I've noticed on Sephora's website they have changed the packaging so I'm interesting in seeing if they have changed the formula as well.

I love...Vanilla & Ice Cream Bubble Bath & Shower Creme - I did a give away back in February that included this bubble bath. Honestly this is my favorite bubble I've found so far. It smells great and leaves your skin feeling soft when you get out of the tub.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray - I can't even count how many of these I've gone through...I want to say about six. This is the best makeup setting spray that I have tried. It really makes a difference in helping my makeup last all day long. I highly recommend it especially in the summer when you find your makeup melts off on hot days.

Palmer's Moisturizing Body Oil - This was sent to me by Palmer to review a few of their products. Recently I've switched from using body lotion to body oils after my showers. I find that body oils hydrate my skin more and it feels so soft after using them. Boyd lotions tend to make my skin feel sticky instead of soft. This was a great body oil but I have't repurchased it again as I am testing out some other body oils at the moment.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir - As you can see I've got two of these in my empties. I love this face spray! It has a great mist and feels very refreshing on the skin. I like to use this mist before and after applying powder. It helps the powder to melt into your skin and make your makeup look airbrushed. Highly recommend for anyone with dry skin.

Covergirl Lash Blast Volume - This is my favorite drugstore mascara. It gives tons of volume and never leaves your lashes looking clumpy.

Benefit Gimme Brow - This has been a great brow gel, however, I know that Benefit just repackaged all their brow products so I'm interested in seeing if the new package has the same formula. I've just order a new brow gel so I will be testing this out soon.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer - This is my one and only must have concealer. I haven't found a better concealer for under my eyes. This stuff stays in place all day, never creases and covers my dark circles.

Chanel Le Volume De Chanel - I bought this mascara for my wedding last year...it is very expensive and hard to buy where I live. I've been trying to find a dupe for this for a year now and I've found nothing that even comes close. I think I have to break down and just buy another one because this stuff was truly amazing. It gives you so much volume! The formula is very buildable and easy to work with. Even though it was expensive it is well worth the money.

Caudalie Makeup Remover Cleansing Water - This is a pass for me, I really disliked this makeup remover I found I had to use a lot in order for it to work. I went through the product very quickly, it's really not worth your money.

Loreal Pro Keratin Refill - This is another hair mask pass for me. This hair mask actually dried out my hair and left it feeling like straw...definitely a pass for me.

Best Beauty Products of 2015

2015 is over....WHAT!?!?! That year went way too fast for me. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years. So many amazing things happened in 2015, by far I think that was my best year (so far). A few highlights from the year:

-I got married in July (on my 10 year anniversary)
-My blog hit 10,000 views
-I became a Beachbody coach
-I got a job promotion at work
-I reconnected with old friends
-I got possession of my new house
-I graduated university with my degree
-I got 3 fitness certifications

All and all it was an amazing year. During the year I also made some great discoveries in the beauty department. I wanted to share some of those best of 2015 products I've discovered.

First off is the T3 trio. This is my favorite hair tool of 2015. I love the versatility of this product plus I just found out that I can buy additional wands for this base...it's pretty much an all in one and you don't need anything else.
Favorite foundation and concealer is the Dior star. I've been searching and searching for the perfect foundation, I've tried others in 2015 but I just kept coming back to the Dior foundation. I've been using it for 11 consecutive months and I've gone through 3 bottles now. This is great for dry skin because it gives you a brightening glow to your skin and makes you look a little dewy -  not grease, it just gives you the perfect glow.
Under that foundation I've been using the Arbonne makeup primer. The only downside of this primer is you can only order it online. Other than that this primer just glides on and helps your foundation last longer.
These lashes I used for my engagement and wedding photos (and for New Years Eve which is why the package is empty). They are just outer accent lashes that look very natural but just make your lashes look fuller. I love the way these look on my eyes plus I find that the accent lashes are much easier to apply rather than a full lash.
This is a MUST mascara for special occasions. I've gone through 2 tubes of this mascara. It's the Chanel Le Volume De Chanel Waterproof. I wear this even when I wear false lashes...I used it on my wedding day and I can say it SAYS PUT! You can cry your heart out and your lashes will still look good.
For my brows I've been loving the Anastasia brow wiz. This looks like natural brow hairs, it fills my brows in great and lasts all day (you do have to set your brows with gel).
My final love for 2015 has been Makeup Geek eye shadows. I have put all my other eye palettes away and I've just been using these shadows. They are so pigmented and creamy, I love how affordable they are and that you can customize your own palette. I defiantly need to dedicate a post to just the Makeup Geek products I own. I highly recommend trying these eye shadows out, there are amazing eye shadow swatches on their website!

Chanel Angled Powder Brush #2

Welcome back to Makeup Monday!!!

Today I thought I would share a new makeup brush I recently purchased. I just wanted to add really quick that all credit goes to makeupbytiffanyd, she is the reason I picked up this brush. After watching many, many, many of her YouTube videos I decided to give this brush ago.
I picked this brush up at The Bay, it comes in a beautiful velvet packaging. Let me tell you, this is not a cheap brush but I personally feel it was well worth the money.
I first off love this brush because it is very fluffy and angles. I use this brush for my bronzer, I don't necessary love a really chiseled look. This makes my bronzer very natural and it really blenders your makeup without taking your foundation off.
Check back next Monday for another Makeup Monday blog post!! Have a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by.
